Independence Day was celebrated with immense joy, pride and enthusiasm at Rita & Satyanarayan Pre Primary School.
Our little patriots came together to celebrate the spirit of India through colourful activities, patriotic songs, performances and plenty of smiles. From tiny tricolour outfits to enthusiastic little hands raised high, every moment reflected the love and pride these young hearts have for our country.
At this tender age, we believe that patriotism is not just about knowing our national symbols—it is about learning the values of unity, kindness, respect and compassion.

Rita & Satyanarayan Pre Primary School
Kindred Foundation is very proud to have adopted a municipal pre primary school.
The school will follow Kindred Foundation’s core practices: inclusive early childhood education, active constructive pedagogy, community teachers, low teacher–student ratio, formative assessments, holistic learning and strong socio-emotional support.
The primary objective is to make the English Medium quality education accessible to the less-affording communities of Mumbai and to develop among them, the 21st century skills like critical thinking, creativity and collaboration, which will enable them to develop an inclusive global outlook.
We believe sustaining schools – especially the Early Childhood Education (ECE) programme, which forms the foundation of Kindred’s model—is essential for long-term impact.
Despite significant investments, the quality of education in India—especially in schools serving underserved communities -remains a concern. The core challenge lies in limited teacher empowerment and low student engagement in classrooms.
While enrolment in Maharashtra remains high (above 99% for ages 6–14), learning outcomes and system effectiveness continue to lag. ASER findings highlight that many adolescents still struggle with foundational reading and numeracy. At the same time, systemic issues persist.
Over 8,000 single-teacher schools serve more than 1.5 lakh students, limiting individual attention and learning support.
The number of schools has declined even as enrolment has increased, straining infrastructure and pupil-teacher ratios.
Local evidence echoes these concerns. The Praja Foundation Citizen Survey found that poor teaching quality and ineffective education delivery are key reasons for parental dissatisfaction with municipal schools.
These challenges point to structural disconnects in the mainstream system. Addressing them requires a holistic framework focused on:
- Strengthening teacher competence and career pathways
- Improving classroom practices and formative assessment
- Building inclusive, child-friendly learning environments
- Nurturing reflective teacher beliefs and socio-emotional learning
- Deepening pedagogical content knowledge
- Strengthening parent engagement, and institutional processes
Kindred Foundation addresses these gaps through its integrated school and teacher education model. The initiative aims to scale impact across Mumbai through partnerships with governments, NGOs, and academic institutions.
We have a strength of 80 children. We welcome donors to support us by sponsoring books, stationery, teaching aid, sports equipment’s or a child’s annual fees.

At Rita & Satyanarayan Pre Primary school we believe that every child deserves access to nutritious food, regardless of their family’s circumstances.
Every single day, we distribute fresh fruits to all our 80 children. For many of them, this is much more than just a healthy snack , as most of our children have never tasted an apple or a pear simply because their families cannot afford to buy them. A fruit that may seem ordinary to many of us can feel like a little luxury to a child.
Through our daily fruit distribution, we hope to nourish not only their growing bodies but also introduce them to new tastes and encourage healthy eating habits.
